Working on Love

May 30, 2020 By: Kyle Timmons Topics: Ravi Zacharias, Love, Scripture: I Corinthians 13

(Day 5 – Contemplating Ravi Zacharias’ quotes)

Many of you know the struggle.

Marriage isn’t easy.  Relationships with your children aren’t easy.  Loving your siblings isn’t always easy.  Loving your neighbor isn’t easy.

Love isn’t easy.

In an article titled “The Will to Do,” an excerpt from Zacharias’ book, “I, Isaac, Take Thee, Rebekah,” the preacher once wrote:

“Love is hard work.  It is the hardest work I know of, work from which you are never entitled to take a vacation.”

Ravi Zacharias

Love is a character of God and also His greatest command.

It’s no wonder the apostle Paul wrote, “Now these three remain:  Faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.” (I Corinthians 13)

If we have nothing at all, yet have love, we have it all.

Whether it is having God’s love, the love of a spouse, a child, or anyone at all, we possess the greatest thing in the world.

We aren’t called just to be loved though.  We are also called to “do love.”

That isn’t easy.  Therefore, continue to work at it.  Think of ways you can show love and “do love” and work at it….each and every day of your life.
