This is just one of eleven benedictions provided in the Scriptures and perhaps one of the most familiar.
I have an art piece on my wall in my church office with this passage on it offering a reminder of God’s blessing to each person who walks out of my office.
Something about these words give me comfort in knowing that the God of the entire universe is protecting me.
Over the years of my ministry I have written several of my own benedictions to close services with and I wish I would have saved them all (note to self – start saving and filing).
Benedictions are short requests for help from above. Some offer blessing and guidance while others remind us of God’s sovereignty and the peace that only He provides.
May the God of all grace and love abound richly in you and may His kindness and peace dwell in your hearts and minds.
